SLO County Sheriff’s Citizen Academy: Week 1

Just started my first week of the SLO County Sheriff's Citizen Academy. Started the first week of 11 with a tour of the SLO County Jail to better understand booking, intake, and housing and the issues facing our jail system. Very enlightening! Last year I did the Morro Bay Police Citizen Academy as well. Next week we are covering Forensics and Cthe Community Action Team! The coordinator for this is Brandy Swain who is just absolutely amazing at her job. Sheriff Ian Parkinson met all of us personally at the door to greet and welcome us. Classy touch by the Sheriff!
